The Power of Conversations

Tip of the Day: Step away from work for a couple minutes and have a conversation.

Last Friday, I raced around NYC catching up with eight people in eight hours. It was an exhausting whirlwind of a day, but it also reminded me how rejuvenating and inspiring conversations can be, and it felt great to reconnect with colleagues and friends.

I learned about the current ad agency landscape and culture, how the new subscription TV model views its audience, and that there remain brilliant untapped data sources to mine for exciting insights and stories.

Most of all, I was reminded how emotionally and intellectually valuable conversations can be, and that we should all do this more often. This one day inspired new ideas, new introductions, and was a breath of fresh air away from the computer.

I had one other excellent conversation recently, my first podcast interview. Hosted by digital marketing agency MKG, we discuss the value of insightful research, speaking with your audience, and research as content strategy and thought leadership.

Please give the podcast a listen and let me know what you think, and to everyone I met with last Friday, thanks again for the great conversation.
